Red Lobster permanently closes its doors at 9838 Watson Road, St. Louis, Missouri.

ST LOUIS, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) As we have discussed for months, the tidal wave of restaurant closures has not concluded as of yet.  January and February are some of the most challenging months, so we will likely see more in the upcoming weeks as sales continue to decline and staffing issues continue to increase in difficulty.

Red Lobster marks this location on its website as "Temporarily Closed," but its Google listing shows it as "Permanently Closed.

The biggest problem when a big chain restaurant closes is that the real estate was built and configured for them, and usage becomes difficult due to the reconfiguration cost.  Unfortunately, the restaurant, car, and banking industries suffer from this exact situation.

However, the residents don't need to worry because, in the restaurant industry, there is always another player waiting to launch a new model.
