Mexican Barrel House Coming to Creve Coeur
Mexican Barrel House Coming to Creve Coeur

CREVE COEUR, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) Mexican Barrel House is coming to Creve Coeur, MO.  It was announced more than one year ago but appears to have been met with the city's support, but held back by the ridiculous process that has sadly become normal.

Nonetheless, it is located where the Houlihan's was located at Olive Blvd and Mason Road.  They will offer Mexican food and Mexican barbecue.

The owner is Alfredo Flores, who owns Casa Juarez on Dorsett in Maryland Heights, MO, which has been incredibly successful.  Flores has significant restaurant experience and talent in the restaurant industry.

The opening date has not been announced, but after seeing the facility, I'm guessing it might open in the spring of 2024.  Again, that is a guess, but we will find out more and revise this article to reflect the accurate date.

Online Customer Reviews - Attention Restaurant Owners
Still today, many restaurant owners ignore the online reviews that have become a leading factor for new prospective customers.

ST. LOUIS, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) Every day, while visiting restaurant owners, we witness them ignoring online reviews and accusing the customers of wanting something for nothing.  Owners/managers need to review each review and check into the comments made before jumping to conclusions.  Or maybe they don't want to face their failures, so they disguise them?

Our experience shows successful restaurants have great customer reviews, while all failing restaurants have poor reviews.  This is not coincidental!

When starting this online publication, it was easy to see online reviews as the most influential factor among new customers.

That is why we focus on online reviews rather than writing things that are not true.  If a restaurant has bad or declining reviews, it suggests something is seriously wrong.  We are not arrogant enough to think that consumers care about our opinions.

We agree that some customers' expectations are not reasonable.  We also agree that some customers use reviews as a method of manipulation, but we see these as exceptions to the rule.

When Google decides which websites to show in search results, Google reviews are part of the ranking metric.  When comparing two websites that are restaurants and all things are equal, except one has poor reviews, Google will rank the site with higher ratings before those with poor ratings.  If owners/managers ignore these facts, you are earning the problems that have occurred on your watch.   I am just stating the facts!

If you have adequately well-trained staff, you will know that you have an unhappy customer before they leave and go home to publish a bad review.  That is the process, so you might want to learn from your mistakes and stop looking for consumers to blame.

Declining customer reviews are an early warning sign that needs to be monitored to discover the mistakes and make corrective actions.

We will write studies targeting restaurants with harmful and declining reviews in the future and follow the process.

Carreta's Mexican Restaurant Opens its Second Location
Carretas Mexican Restaurant opens its second location at 1332-1366 Big Bend Road, Ballwin, Missouri.

BALLWIN, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) According to staff at the Creve Coeur location, Carreta's has opened its second location with a small limited staff.  After months of delays and seeking staff with no success, the management has thrown in the towel and opened by taking staff from its first location to share with the second location.

Carreta's first location is at 11939 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur, MO 63141.  The Google rating for the first location is 4.6 Stars.  Still, we will continue to monitor the ratings at both locations as we are interested in how splitting the staff will work, especially since the Creve Coeur location was struggling with service due to the shortage of workers.

They experienced problems opening the first location due to regulations and a shortage of contractors.

Ridiculous and excessive regulations by St. Louis County and the increasing deterioration of employees continue to plague the restaurant industry, with no end in sight, guaranteeing more and more failed restaurants.  Restaurants continue to close, while others continue to open, hoping the new social structure will correct itself.  Good luck with the plan.

Therefore, if you visit, please expect slight delays and be willing to be patient.  Naturally, we wish them luck and even frequent the Creve Coeur location, but there appears to be some lack of planning.

Asian Corner - Increase in Ratings
St. Louis Restaurant Review has revised the business listing for Asian Corner after an increase in ratings.

VALLEY PARK, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) St. Louis Restaurant Review has revised the business listing for Asian Corner after seeing an increase in ratings on Google, which increased from 4.7 Stars to 4.8 Stars, an increase on Yelp from 4.2 Stars to 4.6 from 4.5 Stars, an increase in GrubHub and added the Uber Rating of 5 Stars.

While some restaurants ignore their online reviews, it is apparent that Asian Corner learns from the negative reviews to learn from their mistakes or to understand what the customers want.

We are familiar with this family-owned Asian/Thai restaurant.  We support the reviews.  The food is excellent, the facility is clean, and the service is unparalleled.  Each staff member is family, all displaying significant ownership pride.

They offer dine-in or carryout and online ordering.

Asian Corner online reviews as of December 3, 2023, are as follows:

- Google – 4.8 Stars with more than 239 online reviews

- Facebook – 4.6 Stars with more than 54 votes

- Yelp – 4.6 Stars with more than 156 online reviews

- TripAdvisor – 5 Stars with 12 votes

- DoorDash – 4.8 Stars with 1600 votes

- GrubHub – 4.8 Stars with more than 164 votes

- Uber – 5 Stars with 10 reviews

- Average Rating (7) – 4.8 Average Star Rating

NOTE: Increased ratings on Google, DoorDash, and GrubHub and adding Uber reviews increased the Average Rating on December 3, 2023.  It is very possibly the highest-ranking Asian/Thai restaurant in the region.  We will report back on our research.

We focus on online reviews because the customers publish them.  We always recommend that restaurant owners monitor their reviews and communicate with the customers to improve the relationships and learn what the customers expect.  Customers can kill a restaurant's online reputation if ignored.  It is clear to us that Asian Corner follows this strategy.

We congratulate and complement the entire staff of Asian Corner for a job well done.

More information about Asian Corner can be found on STL.News or visit their WEBSITE.

Business Owner Alert - Advanced Safety & Fire Safety
Restaurant Business Owner Business Alert - Pearl Cafe - Serviced or Scammed?

Florissant, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) We work with many restaurants and witness, especially the ethnic restaurants, are commonly taken advantage of by dishonest service providers because they see an opportunity to make money by the owners' trust and lack of ability to properly understand things fluently.

We take a stand to protect all restaurant owners, but many ethnic restaurants need additional TLC due to translation.  Therefore, we have issued the following alert and ask for feedback.

Parties to the Situation:

Advanced Safety & Fire Safety, LLC d.b.a. Frank Bahr

1947 Lunenburg Drive

St. Peters, MO 63376

Phone: 314-283-3624

Pearl Cafe

8416 N Lindbergh Blvd

Florissant, MO 63031

Phone: (314) 831-3701

Thai Kitchen

8458 N Lindbergh Blvd

Florissant, MO 63031

Phone: (314) 695-5039

Circumstances of the Alert:

On September 15, 2023, a representative of Frank Bahr, or Frank Bahr himself, entered the kitchen of Pearl Cafe and talked to an employee, saying he had been requested to service the fire extinguishers and issue new inspection tags.

The owner was absent; therefore, without knowledge of the situation, the employee allowed the representative access to perform the inspection.  After completing the service, the employee issued a check for $250.00.

However, the owner, Scott, did not request the service.  The service ticket was for Thai Kitchen, located at 8458 N Lindbergh Blvd, while Pearl, Cacated at 8416 N Lindbergh.  Frank Bahr said that he was given the wrong address and accidentally went to Pearl Cafe rather than Thai Kitchen.

When the owner of Pearl Cafe returned, he discovered the situation.  He called Frank Bahr and asked about the situation.  Frank Bahr admitted to the mistake but has taken the position that the needed in need of service and was out of date, which according to the owner of Pearl Cafe, was not true.  Scott provided us with pictures of the old, which were not outdated.

Frank Bahr represented that he would issue a refund to Pearl Cafe, but to date, no refund has been issued.

The owner of Pearl Cafe reached out to us, asking what could be done.  For Scott, it's not about the; item; it is a matter of principle.  $250 is not enough to get the attention of the police and is too small to file a lawsuit.

We called Frank Bahr on Friday, September 29, 2023, to discuss the situation with Frank Bahr.  We conducted a professional discussion, and it is evident that Bahr was not willing to resolve the resolution with anybody; he told us the same things he told Scott, that he would go by and take care of it, but was not willing to give a date.

We assured Bahr that we wanted a peaceful resolution.  He claimed that it was a mistake and that Scott was overreacting and needed to calm down.  Again, he had told Scott that he would come by but always failed to show up.  Additionally, we asked him if he would give us a time to would resolve this.  He responded, "I'm not jumping through hoops now that you called."

One perspective is that it was a mistake and that Bahr will resolve the issue.  However, the facts do not support that.  In fact, as of now, the facts are that this appears to be a scam.

Are there other victims of this situation?  We would like to know if other business owners, especially ethnic restaurant owners, have been a victim of a similar situation by Bahr.  Please get in touch with us, and we will keep the information anonymous if requested.

Summary

Both restaurants are Thai restaurants, but the names are not similar, and they are several doors apart.

We verified with the owners of Thai Kitchen that they had requested the service; they confirmed that the service request was accurate and that they had received the service.

Bahrs' explanations about how the mistake occurred do not make sense, and he has displayed any effort to resolve the situation after making multiple promises.

Verification of information:

We have received copies of the following from Pearl Cafe:

- Copy of Frank Bahr Service Ticket

- Pictures from Pearl Cafe's security camera show the representative, who we believe to be Frank Bahr.

- We discussed the service request with the owners of Thai Kitchen.

- Professional discussion with Bahr.

Thai Kitchen - O'Fallon - Food Establishment Inspection Report - Rating Score 100%

O'FALLON, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) Food Establishment Inspection Reports are viewed and considered more now than ever after the pandemic lockdown.  100% Rating Scores deserve the attention!

Thai Kitchen - O'Fallon recently remodeled this facility to expand the dining, kitchen, and storage space.  Sasimonthon Ongartsutthikuo's owner said, "I'm very proud of my staff."  She never dreamed of getting a 100% score but appreciates the employees' effort to make this possible and show the community that they care about their safety.

Recently, Ongartsutthikul opened a pickup and delivery location in the new ghost kitchen concept on Hampton Avenue called The Hill Food Co. and is opening a location in Maryland Heights that will operate as Thai Mama, not Thai Kitchen.  Still, the menu and service will be the same.

Bougie Bites STL Opens at The Hill Food Co.
Bougie Bits STL now accepts orders at The Hill Food Co. on Hampton Avenue for pickup or delivery.

ST LOUIS, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) Bougie Bites is the newest local food establishment to open at The Hill Food Co.  They are known for their popular food truck, Bougie Bites, and for providing tasty, plant-based menu items.

You can book their food truck to a specific location on their website or order online for pickup or delivery at their Hampton Avenue location inside The Hill Food Co.

They are one of the restaurants that have entered the new era of restaurant concepts.  Ghost kitchens are becoming increasingly popular as restaurants are closing due to high rents, shrinkage of profit margins, and difficulty hiring staff.  Ghost Kitchens has created a highly efficient approach to ease the pain for startups and small operations that want or need to expand.

Ghost kitchens are less expensive and require less staff as they focus on online orders and delivery using third-party providers such as Doordash, GrubHub, and Uber Eats.

The three partners, Bougie Bites, The Hill Food Co., and the three third-party delivery companies, create the perfect solution for restaurant owners and consumers.

Thai Mama will Open in Maryland Heights - Sept 2023
Thai Mama will open in Maryland Heights, MO, in September 2023

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) Thai Mama released a press release on STL.News announcing their intentions to open a new Thai restaurant concept in the fall of 2023 in Maryland Heights, MO.  While it is a new name, the concept, menu, and service have over twenty years of a proven track record of successfully satisfying customers, illustrated by high online reviews.

The owner of Thai Mama is Sasimonthon Ongartsutthikul, who owns Thai Kitchen, which has multiple locations across the St. Louis region, including:

- Florissant, MO

- O'Fallon, MO

- St. Charles, MO

- St. Louis, MO

- Wentzville, MO

She is naming the Maryland Heights location differently due to the existing Thai Kitchen that currently exists, which she started in 1999, but later sold to an unrelated party that remains in business today.

Ongartsutthikul has denounced any affiliation with the existing Maryland Heights location at 2031 Dorsett Village, Maryland Heights, MO 63043.

Living in Maryland Heights, she missed doing business in the neighborhood and decided to open another location, but she didn't want to confuse the public.  So, Thai Mama was conceived.  However it might be a new name, but the menu, recipes, and service will be the same, which has made her family-owned Thai restaurant chain a success growing to five locations with this new location coming up.

The Maryland Heights location is 1932 McKelvey, at the shopping center at Dorsett Rd and McKelvey Road behind the Mobile gas station.

Additionally, Ongartsutthikul leased the space at 1924 McKelvey to open a Thai grocery store, and a wholesale company called Sasi Wholesale.  They will open in September 2023 as well and will offer retail and wholesale.

Billy’s on Broadway Restaurant Opened on June 23rd
Billy’s on Broadway Restaurant Opened on June 23rd, 2023 - Billy’s on Broadway is a new restaurant/bar in an architectural facility that has created a destination rather than a restaurant or bar.

ST LOUIS, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) What was once an abandoned building (since 2019) for approximately four years has been recreated with a new modern vision but recaptures the historical feel that blesses the community but frequently goes overlooked.

It requires vision, courage, experience, and a lot of money to step out of the box to do what these partners have done.  They have saved a piece of history to a building that dates back to at least 1890 but recreated it to provide modern conveniences in the historical, sporty, classy style that most competitors can only dream of.

There was consideration for demolition of the building, but they made the right decision to restore and recreate a bar dating back to its beginning based on the information they have found.

An architectural publication should be writing about this place rather than food magazines because the results of the renovation and expansion are overwhelmingly impressive and done professionally.  This project was not created on a small budget.  The renovation cost will not be disclosed, but they spared no expense to do the project and do it right.

This establishment is not just a bar/restaurant but a destination like Brett Hull’s Junction House in Wentzville or Ballpark Village.  Ballpark Village is the largest, but only Billy’s on Broadway and Brett Hull’s can be classified as these places.

We had the honor to meet with Billy Roe, one of the partners, and the name on the front of the building.  The other two partners are David and Brett Apted.

There are multiple bars inside and outside, with a seating capacity of approximately 400 patrons in this historical atmosphere spreading across 6,000 square feet.  One of the bars is a rooftop bar with a beautiful panoramic view of the Cardinals Stadium and an elevated view of the stage that their entertainers will use.

The main bar at the front of the building is the original bar that dates back to 1890 that they restored, which turned out to be beautiful.

While they sincerely desire to create a great bar and restaurant establishment, the most impressive emotion I witnessed was Mr. Roes's love and passion for the facility.  The owners get that they are doing more than starting a new business. They are leveraging a piece of history to amplify their business model and illustrate an unprecedented amount of ownership pride while preserving some history.  Old buildings are often demolished and forgotten because the idea that a new building is cheaper is only easier.  It requires a lot of thought and planning to preserve, but it is only sometimes the most cost-effective.  Moreover, it is impossible to re-create history in a new facility. It’s just not possible!

It is located one block south of the Cardinals Stadium and across the street from Broadway Oyster Bar, which was a smart move.

Considering the location, the history of the building, the menu, the food, and the business model they are creating, this will be one of the most successful restaurant/bar ventures launched in the St. Louis region.  It is a restaurant, bar, music, and entertainment venue in the perfect location with an excellent view in a historical environment that will become a primary destination in the region.

We can’t express our sincere appreciation for the opportunity to meet with Mr. Roe and get the information he graciously shared with us.  Truthfully, the amount of information goes beyond the scope of an article, and we hope this is the beginning of what needs to be a series of articles to project the image this place and these investors deserve.  We recommend and will support this establishment to help ensure its success.

They opened on June 23, 2023, so many revisions and decisions are still being made.

Los Incas, a Peruvian Restaurant Opens in O'Fallon, MO
Los Incas is a Peruvian restaurant that opened in O'Fallon on May 27, 2023 and is off to a great start with 4.9 Stars on Google with 32 reviews.

O'Fallon, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) Rafael Delacruz and Luis Moreno migrated to the U.S. from Peru.  They met through their love of music and playing in bands and became friends.  They decided to open a Peruvian restaurant called Los Incas Restaurant in O'Fallon, Missouri, and their first day of the soft opening was May 27, 2023.

They make everything fresh daily using the best ingredients to fill their desire to deliver high-quality Peruvian cuisine to the community.  Their knowledge of their cuisines, as well as other cuisines, was impressive.  They definitely have a passion for their business venture.

One might ask, what is Peruvian cuisine similar to?  It has been influenced by Japan, Italy, Chili, Africa, China, and Spain.

Another interesting fact that Luis informed us of is that Peru has more than 4,000 types of potatoes.  Interesting!

The Peruvian cuisine uses a lot of potatoes and rice.

While they don't have a lot of competition, they want to provide the most authentic Peruvian cuisine in the St. Louis region.

They are waiting on their liquor license, which should be approved any day.

Los Incas best-selling items are:

- Lomo Saltado

- Ceviche

Their menu consists of:

Appetizers/Entrada - price varies from $8.00 to $13.00

- Papa a la Huancaina

- Papa Rellena

- Causa Limena

- Sopa a la Minuta

Main Course/Plato de Fondo - price varies between $17.00 to $22.00

(StLouisRestaurantReview) Traveling always comes as an inspirational and memorable experience.  Traveling to St. Louis is no different.  Such a trip can be even more exciting and educational than many other adventures you can take on as a student.  Young people can enjoy many activities and sights in St. Louis.  Many will help students connect with the city, learn new things about the region, and ignite their curiosity and imagination.  Overall, St. Louis can quickly broaden your horizons and provide inspiring learning experiences for students of all ages.  So let's see why you should consider St. Louis, what it can offer you, and what sights or activities you should try before leaving.  Here is your guide to St. Louis adventures.

Reasons to visit St. Louis on your next road trip

Students come to St. Louis for a variety of reasons.  They may want to rest after a tough week at school, have some fun on the weekends, or explore the city's significance for their educational purposes.  Let's see why student traveling to St. Louis is essential.

Historical Significance

St. Louis has a rich history, reaching back to the United States' westward expansion.  There are plenty of sights and places of significance to capture its historical meaning and honor the city's past.  The Gateway Arch is undoubtedly one of them.  Students should visit the city symbol and learn what it represents to the locals and the country.  The city cherishes this memory and allows younger people to deepen their understanding of America.

Museums and Cultural Institutions

Along with historical significance comes educational value.  Students can visit many world-class museums and other educational institutions.  The St. Louis Art Museum, Missouri History Museum, and the City Museum are just a few examples.  These sights offer great collections and exhibitions of art and historical artifacts, providing a fun and interactive learning experience.

Science and Technology

All science-inclined students will be glad to learn about this St. Louis Science Center and its overall passion for science exhibitions.  After all, the city prides itself on being a hub for scientific research and innovation.  Visiting St. Louis can help you define your major in school and inspire you to embark on a journey of scientific exploration and research.  In this author's post, you can find further help with your science papers and research.

Educational Tours

As always, students can engage in exciting and diverse educational tours around the city and the nearby territory.  As you can already tell, there is much to explore about the region.  For example, students can sign up for educational tours about the history and significance of the city during the Western expansion.  Students can seek free walking tours or find expert guides to provide 'behind-the-scenes' experience in many historical sights and museums.  You can even choose a time when attending the Missouri Botanical Garden, which we highly recommend.  Overall, tours offer students to gain insights into various industries, fields, and historical events, making learning inspiring and exciting.

Architecture and Design

All the architecture geeks would be thrilled to see St. Louis for its urban landscape and historical buildings.  Indeed, you can explore many architectural styles here, from Georgian colonial style to modern design.  If this is your gem, do not miss the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis and the Old Courthouse, as they are the two most fascinating and well-preserved memories.  However, you will also be impressed with contemporary urban planning and recent architectural trends.

Greek Kitchen Closes its Doors Forever
Greek Kitchen in Kirkwood, Missouri, Closes its Doors Forever

KIRKWOOD, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) Greek Kitchen is officially closed.  This breaks my heart because it was one of my favorite restaurants in the region.  I went there for lunch today only to find out they had closed the business.

The owner was there, and we briefly visited with the owner, Lisa Kandel.  Found out some interesting facts.

Lisa started another Greek restaurant, Olympia Kebob House and Taverna, 1543 McCausland Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63117, which her children own now.

Her customers can find her at Olympia Kebob, but hopefully "not in the kitchen," she said.

We asked why she closed because of a lack of ability to negotiate the lease renewal, inflation, and staffing issues.

I am sure the lease was to increase, as property owners want more rent due to inflated real estate prices, increase in property taxes, and insurance, making it impossible for the small business to stay alive.

There will be an online auction for the equipment and furnishings.  The auctioneer is BCL Auction, and they can be found online at BCLAuction.com.

We wish the best for the owners, Joe and Lisa Kandel.  Closing a business is never easy.

But the good news is that her kids own the old place, and Lisa will be there.  Since we couldn't have lunch at Greek Kitchen today, we went to Olympia Kebob and couldn't have been happier with our food.

Olympia Kebob House and Taverna online reviews as of July 6, 2023, are as follows:

- Google - 4.4 Stars with more than 1690 online reviews

- Facebook - 4.4 Stars with 404 votes - 5.4K likes - 5.4 followers

- Yelp - 3.5 Stars with 372 reviews, but Yelp always has the lowest reviews

- TripAdvisor - 4 Stars with 146 reviews

- DoorDash - 4.8 Stars with 2300 votes - Amazing Rating!

Why You Should Visit St. Louis as a Student
(StLouisRestaurantReview) Traveling is always a great experience for any person.  It is the opportunity to see new places to get to know new people, and one ofandhe best ways to forget or swit is itch off from problems.  For students traveling can also be very helpful from an educational point of view.  For example, if you study history in college, holidays spent in Rome can be very valuable as you would be able to see amazing examples of the architecture of the Roman Empire.  If you study some foreign languages, like Spanish or French, for sure your dream destination point will be Madrid and Paris.  From this point of view, we sometimes feel sorry for local US cities because many Americans want to travel abroad and, at the same time, don’t know a lot about their neighboring cities.  That is why we prepared this article and would like to tell you about one of the greatest cities for travel in the US, St. Louis.  Here are some tips; we hope you will find them helpful.

Don’t take your academic debts with you.

This first tip is a basic one, no matter where you want to go.  Nothing can spoil your holidays like the thoughts about unwritten essays or the assignments that you didn’t send to your professor on time.  That is why we suggest you do everything possible in order to pass all the exams and send all the assignments.  If you think that you will not be able to cope with some essays alone, then you can consider as an option to place the order with some writing service, for example, Speedy Paper; in such case, you will, first of all, be calm because they will write all the paperwork within deadlines and in accordance with your requests and, second of all, the free time you get, you can spend on learning about St. Louis and on organizing your trip.

Think about the way of traveling and time.

Thanks to the St. Louis location, you can get there by any means of transport.  It will take you about three hours to get to Lambert International Airport from any point in the US.  If you have aerophobia, then you can easily get to the city by train or by car.  If you prefer a plane, you have to think about buying tickets beforehand.  It’s not necessary to do it three months in advance, for example, for international flights, when you can save some money if you buy a ticket long before the trip.  But it’s better not to postpone it till the last moment because during summertime people travel more often, so there is a chance that you will have difficulties with buying tickets.  Time is also very important.  Believe us, St. Louis, you will find what to do every season of the year.  If you look at the list of events that take place there, you will get tired of scrolling even after day; concerts, exhibitions, plays, events for children and adults, it’s always very hard to choose.  But if you ask us, the author’s choice is summer.  The weather is great, and you can spend a lot of time outdoors enjoying The Botanical Garden, St. Louis Zoo, or Laumeier Sculpture Park.

The city offers a wide choice of accommodation.

Another important issue is the place to live.  For sure, you will not have problems finding a suitable place to live without spending all your money (it’s better to do it in the Central West End).  If you can afford it, you can stay in a big and luxurious hotel.  If your budget is not that big, you can look for a hostel or rent a flat on Airbnb.  Those who have an adventurous spirit can try couch surfing.  If you are lucky enough, you will pay a very small amount of money or even nothing and will get a local acquaintance, whom you can ask about places to go and see or how to get somewhere if you are not very good at reading maps.

Look for bars and restaurants that locals choose.

The restaurant can be really fancy requiring an almost white tie dress code from you, but the food and atmosphere can be not nice at all.  And at the same time, some dinners can be so popular that people from the whole city go there to eat.  So, it’s always a good idea to ask locals where they prefer eating.  Or at least TripAdvisor.  And just for you to know, St. Louis is a perfect place for gastro tours, as it has a national reputation as a place where you can eat something really tasty.  Butter cake, thin-crust pizza, or deep-fried ravioli will drive you crazy and most probably will make you gain a couple of pounds.  And don’t forget about the famous St. Louis beer.
