Millwoods Sports Bar and Grill expands to Maryland Heights after success in Wentzville since 2016 - Not Just a Sports Bar.

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) Millwoods Sports Bar and Grill is a bar and grill in Wentzville, Missouri.  They have been in business since 2016, expanded into the basement with a tap room that can be rented and serves 24 beers on tap with business hours of Tuesday thru Friday, opening at 5:00 pm, and Saturdays opening at 3:00 pm. It is family-friendly, with no smoking.  Its Google Rating is 4.5 Stars, with 381 online reviews.

They recently announced on their Facebook page that they were expanding to the Maryland Heights, Missouri community in the same facility that was previously known as Dorsett Inn, Johnny’s Place, and most recently, Jimmy’s Place.

They hope to open in mid-June, but the license, inspections, etc., takes a lot of time, so it might be the end of June.

The owner of the Wentzville location is Tony Miller, who retired after 38 years at Boeing and decided to open this establishment and has been in the bar business for more than 30 years.

For the new location, he has decided to partner with the Wentzville manager, Keeley Walker. She has been in the bar business for more than 20 years.

They will serve the same menu as the Wentzville location but will make changes to the new location, such as:

Tango Argentina Food has served authentic Argentinean Empanadas to the St. Louis region since 2000.

ST. CHARLES, MO (StLouisRestaurantReview) We are constantly monitoring restaurants in the region to find those with high online reviews that deserve attention from the public, and that might appreciate their efforts and skills in creating and preparing unique and memorable cuisines and dining experiences.

We found Tango Argentina Food in St. Charles, Missouri.  It is owned by two proud and hard-working Argentinean natives, Hector and Stella Aberastury.

One characteristic of them that makes this establishment a high-ranking restaurant is that they love their job.

They migrated to the U.S. in 1995 and could not return to Argentina to visit friends and family for 18 years.  They worked hard to make and save money to raise their children, save for a trip to return home to visit and open their own business.  Hector delivered newspapers for the St. Louis Post Dispatch while Stella worked for Cintas managing uniforms for employees at Ameristar Casino.

Interviewing this couple while they look back over their life and explaining their journey to live the American dream was inspirational.

They take considerable pride in the restaurant's operation, illustrated by their health inspection scores that routinely hit 100%.  In addition, it is the cleanest commercial kitchen that I have seen.

The Empanadas are made with authentic ingredients imported from Argentina, one of the most important being Pimenton, an original spice.

What are Empanadas?

According to Wikipedia, they are: empanadas is a baked or fried turnover consisting of pastry and filling, common in Spanish and other Southern European, Latin American, and Iberian-influenced cultures worldwide.  The name comes from the Spanish empanar and translates as 'breaded,' wrapped or coated in bread.

Tango offers 18 different Empanadas and plans to add a few more in the upcoming months.

After upgrading its liquor license, Thai Kitchen can now serve Spirits, Wine, and Beer.

(StLouisRestaurantReview) Thai Kitchen has upgraded its liquor license to include spirits, wine, and beer by the glass to offer a whole bar experience.  Previously, they offered wine and beer.

Management applied for the upgrade after deciding to expand the O'Fallon location, known as Thai Bar, which expands the restaurant's menu items and offers a bar section for those that desire a different experience than dine-in only.

There are four Thai Kitchen locations in the St. Louis region:

- O'Fallon - spirits, wine, and beer

While the is excellent, the service appears to be the most significant contributing factor to the high online reviews.  The owners do all of the work and work well together, ensuring that customers understand what they serve and what to expect.  Their goal to satisfy customers is evident and comes across as sincere.

We ate lunch there on Thursday, May 4, 2023, and enjoyed the meal, service, and atmosphere.  Another significant factor was cleanliness.  We could not have been more satisfied with our experience, supported by the online reviews.
